Services

While our name, South Hyland Pet Hospital, may suggest we provide emergency services, we are a general practice veterinary facility. When we were established in 1974, the term “hospital” was commonly used for full-service veterinary clinics. As veterinary medicine has evolved, care has become more specialized, with dedicated emergency hospitals now equipped and staffed to handle true emergencies, and typically open 24/7 to ensure immediate access to care. Today, the term “clinic” often more accurately reflects the type of care we provide.

Although we are well equipped to deliver high-quality veterinary services, we are not designed to manage critical or life-threatening emergencies. In those situations, our team may recommend referral to a nearby emergency veterinary facility to ensure your pet receives the most timely and comprehensive care possible.

Below is an overview of the services we offer to support your pet’s routine and preventative health needs.

What to Expect During Your Pet’s Appointment

To help reduce lobby congestion, limit the spread of infectious disease, and create a calmer experience for our patients, we ask that you please check in from the parking lot by calling or texting us before entering the building with your pet.

For everyone’s safety, all pets must be on a leash or in a carrier at all times. Retractable leashes should be locked and kept at 6 feet or shorter while in our care.

Appointments with our veterinarians are typically scheduled for 30–60 minutes to allow time for a thorough exam and to address all of your questions and concerns. Appointments with our technicians and assistants are scheduled for 15–30 minutes. If your pet is experiencing any medical concerns, please let us know in advance so we can ensure you are scheduled appropriately with a veterinarian instead.

If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, we kindly ask for advance notice so we can offer that time to another patient in need.

Payment & Insurance

To help us provide the best possible care for every patient, payment is due at the time of service. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, debit cards, checks, and cash.

We are committed to helping make your pet’s care as accessible as possible. To support this, we offer several payment solutions, including financing options, wellness plans, and guidance on pet insurance.

Flexible Financing Options

We partner with Cherry, CareCredit, Scratchpay, and All Pet Card to provide flexible payment plans. Options vary from no hard credit check plans with quick approval to traditional credit-based financing with promotional interest terms.

In-House Wellness Plans

Our Wellness Plans allow you to spread the cost of routine care over 12 months with convenient monthly payments. Plans may include exams, vaccinations, labwork, dental cleanings, and more.

Pet Insurance

Pet insurance can help manage unexpected costs. While we do not sell insurance directly, we are happy to assist with records and claims.
