October 16-22 is National Veterinary Technician Week, and we here at South Hyland Pet Hospital want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing veterinary technicians who help make our hospital such a special place for pets!

These professionals are dedicated to the veterinary field and the clients that they serve. They are experts in their field and can multitask like no one else! We are so lucky to have such an amazing vet tech team at our hospital.

Of course, we value our veterinary technicians every day of the year, but this week is a special time to really show them how much we appreciate all that they do!

The Importance of Veterinary Technicians

Veterinary technicians are a vital part of any veterinary team. They play a crucial role in providing comfort to both patients and their owners. Because of their vast knowledge base, they are able to provide expert nursing care assisting in surgery, and helping with providing postoperative care.

The daily tasks of a veterinary technician may vary depending on the needs of the hospital, but they typically include tasks such as taking X-rays, drawing blood, placing IV catheters, setting up anesthesia machines, monitoring patients during surgery, providing postoperative care, and much more. Veterinary technicians are required to have an Associate’s degree from an accredited program, but many continue their education by obtaining a Bachelor’s degree or even a specialty certification.

Teamwork

Teamwork is a critical part of any business, and our team at South Hyland Pet Hospital is no exception. We could not provide the high level of care that we do without the expertise of our veterinary technicians.

Our technicians work tirelessly behind the scenes and in connection with our doctors, veterinary assistants, reception staff, and pet parents to make sure that our patients receive the best possible care.

Why We Love Our Veterinary Technicians!

At South Hyland Pet Hospital, we are so lucky to have such an amazing team of veterinary technicians! These amazing professionals are central to what we do, and we are so grateful to have them on our team at South Hyland Pet Hospital! They truly love what they do and it shows in their dedication to their work.

Thank you, vet techs, for everything you do! We couldn’t do it without you!
